About Sunrise L.A. Youth
After joining Sunrise in late 2019, a group of teens felt the absence of their peers in L.A. Sunrise hubs. Not only did L.A. lack middle and high school hubs, but the hubs that did exist were mostly made up of college aged (or older) Sunrisers.
The goal of a youth LA hub is to both seed more middle and high school hubs and provide a region-wide space to build community and strategy for young students to participate in the wider movement with their peers.
Together, L.A. Sunrise teens will help make climate change an urgent, national priority, end the corrupting influence of fossil fuel executives on our politics, and elect leaders who stand up for the health and well being of all people.
Have an idea for us? A question? Want to help us with our next action? Fill out this form and someone from the hub will reach out to you.
Sunrise is a movement to stop climate change and create millions of good jobs in the process
We’re building an army of young people to make climate change an urgent priority across America, end the corrupting influence of fossil fuel executives on our politics, and elect leaders who stand up for the health and wellbeing of all people.
We are ordinary young people who are scared about what the climate crisis means for the people and places we love. We are gathering in classrooms, living rooms, and worship halls across the country. Everyone has a role to play. Public opinion is already with us – if we unite by the millions we can turn this into political power and reclaim our democracy.
